Cork builder Eric Higgins, who was defrauded of six grand by former  Fianna Fáil Cork city councillor Gary O’Flynn, son of former FF TD Noel, and brother of current deputy Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr Ken O’Flynn.

Last week’s hearing heard an emotional plea from Gary’s father, who asked the court to spare his son a custodial sentence so that he could get help for his mental health. Not sure being a member of Fianna Fáil qualifies as a mental illness, but whatever.
