Do you like shit films? Do you like dead formats? Are you free on Saturday?
Twisted Celluloid present a three-hour extravaganza saluting the king of 1980s home entertainment: the video cassette.
Sourced from hundreds of tapes, there will be a collection of classic and cheesy trailers. Featured will be coming attraction for obscure horror movies, senseless action thrillers, sex comedies, cult musicals, and martial arts exploitation flicks. There will be two trailer compilations, each running 45 minutes, screened on the evening, with the film Remote Control (1988) screened in-between. This film, presented in a digitally-remastered edition, is a little-seen sci-fi horror comedy about an alien invasion taking place through a mind-controlling VHS cassette.
This is the schedule for the VIVA VHS! evening:
8:15pm – Viva VHS! Trailer Compilation Part 1
9:00pm – Remote Control (feature film)
10:30pm – Viva VHS! Trailer Compilation Part 2
Expect grain, irony and hipsters.
