Atmosphere in pub that has been closed for years about to get a whole lot shittier

The Newport. The only memorable things about it was that it had a big glass elevator going up to the jacks, sort of like Willy Wonka, if by ‘chocolate factory’ you meant your lower intestine. Also: Plenty of upskirts of saggy tights. Tres glam. No doubt it will be a totally sophis establishment now Wetherspoons are taking it on.
