The protest which has been organised today has been organised by a group called Waterford Against Racism. I think their motivations are well-intentioned, but I think it would be wrong at this point to bring more people out onto the street.

Silver Swings Moron Hotel

“We booked in months ago and we’ve paid good pennies to go down and I do not want my children, especially teens, exposed to this in a family friendly hotel,” she told Independent.ie.
“We are going to end up not going because I don’t want my children exposed to that until they are old enough to make decisions like that themselves.
“I rang the hotel about my concerns and it was incredulous to hear the reply. I was asked was I prudish.”

Imagine though, people having sex in a hotel. Next they’ll be showing dirty films on the hotel TV. And then after that the gays will be allowed in. I’m just glad Dev isn’t alive to see this.

I want to take the opportunity to emphasise the reputation of Limerick as a criminally violent city is particularly ill-deserved. Limerick is not a criminally violent place. Limerick is now a peaceful place. For example, as far as I can ascertain there has only been one homicide in Limerick since January 2013, and that’s almost two years. By contrast, the news from Dublin is one of continuous murder and mayhem. In Limerick, you can walk O’Connell Street and the side streets in comparative safety. The same cannot be said about the similarly named street in Dublin.

Hey, remember that wedding video of a bottle of Fireball whiskey with a GoPro attached?
Well:
Late last week, the whiskey’s European bottler informed the makers of Fireball that they were out of compliance with European regulations. The Fireballers prepare two versions: a recipe for Canada and the United States containing the chemical, propylene glycol, and a European version that has less of the stuff. Propylene glycol is used for a variety of industrial, cosmetic, and food production uses.
In your Prestone Low-Tox, it’s an antifreeze. In Fireball, it’s used as a sweetener, its makers say. (And yes, according to the Centers for Disease Control, it’s “generally regarded as safe for use in food.”)
And who doesn’t love the sweet deliciousness of generally safe food?
