Gev Barrett, Oisin McMahon Trench, Johnny Gallagher, John Paul Prior and Christian Volkman recreate Abbey road outside Music Maker to launch the Rory Gallagher Festival.

The town of Ballyshannon in County Donegal, is where Rory was born on 2nd March 1948 and almost from the start he was destined for great things, being born at the appropraitely named “Rock Hospital”. The 12th Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival takes place between Thursday 30th May and Sunday 2nd June 2013 in Ballyshannon with thousands of Rock ‘n Blues music fans set to converge on the town from some 20 different countries for what will be a special Failte Ireland
Gathering Festival with the theme “Failte Isteach Rock”.

Sorry to have to tell you this guys, but Rory Gallagher was from Cork. Guess you’re either going to have to cancel or relocate the festival about 600 miles south. Feel free to celebrate Gerald Kean as if he was from Donegal though, we really have no use for him.
